Elefántok / Elephants

Ma, hirtelen ötlettől vezérelve, elefánt-parkba mentünk (már csak azért is, mert az alternatív ötlet a szentjánosbogár park volt, de oda - nyílvánvalóan - csak este 7 után lehet menni). Az elefánt parkban volt a szokásos etetés és elenfántolás, de lehetett "fürödni" is velük. A fürdés igázából vízben eldőlő elefánt hátáról vizbe esést jelentett, de akik vállakoztak rá, azoknak láthatóan bejött a dolog. Olyannyira, hogy Albert és Dávid másodjára is bevállalták (Mariann helyett és helyettem; én már nem vagyok elég bevállalós). Ami nekem igazán tetszett, hogy minden élerkorú, sőt egészen kiselefánt is volt (akit cumiztatni is lehetett). Meg az, hogy az állatok tiszták és egészségesek voltank (nem úgy, mint a szegény leharcolt példány Langkawi-n).

Nem túl megerőltető, de tartalmas vasárnapi program volt. Ráadásul, ha egy kicsit hamarabb indulunk, még egy szarvasparkot is megnézhettünk volna. De mivel az elefántolás nem volt előre eltervezve (még félálomban voltam, amikor reggel M csak derült égből gumibot módjára megkérdezte, hogy lehet-e ma kocsit bérelni...), csak valamivel dél előtt tudtunk indulni.

Today, on an impulse, we went to an elephant park (not only because the alternative idea was a firefly park to where - obviously - you can go only after 7pm). At the elephant park there was the usual feeding and elephant riding, but one could be "swimming" with them. Swimming actually meant falling into the water from the elephant's back (while it also falls into the water), but those who volunteered for it clearly enjoyed the thing. So much that Albert and David took another turn (instead of Mariann and myself; I'm not willing to do new things anymore). The thing that I really liked was that there were elephant of all age, even a baby one (one could even bottle-feed it). And that the animals were clean and healthy looking (unlike the poor battered specimen on Langkawi).

It was a not too strenuous but rich Sunday program. Moreover, if we started a little earlier, we could have had a look at a deer park. But since the elephanting was not pre-planned (I was still half asleep when out of the blue M asked of we could rent a car today...), we could leave only slightly before noon.
